Mini Monthly Round-Up | September
We’re back, and it’s the most wonderful time of the year for any parent – back-to-school! This month we’re rolling out the Mini Round-Up, a replacement to our monthly newsletter, and a round-up of what’s been happening in Our Home & Miniature Land this month.
This summer has been quite an eventful one in both the real world and our miniature one. In addition to the excitement of Canada’s 150th, we got a taste of the solar eclipse - it was quite the solar-bration. In our Miniature Canada, we made big progress on our Ottawa destination with buildings popping up in ByWard Market and on Parliament Hill. We also invited our friends from TVO for a peek at our latest little developments. And, we’re announcing a new venture that we’d love you to be a part of. Follow our progress building Canada in miniature on our website, www.miniatureland.ca, and on our social media sites.
TVO's Take: The True North Strong and teeny!
This summer we hosted our friends, Matthew O’Mara and his team from TVO, and gave them full access to our Toronto, Golden Horseshoe and Ottawa-in-construction destinations. We were struck by the beautifully shot video that TVO put together from their visit. Take a look via the link below, or check it out on www.TVO.org . Thank you Matthew and team for creating a unique take on our miniature land.
ByWard Market: Experience it in mini!
We’ve been busy building the historic ByWard Market, one of Canada’s oldest and largest outdoor markets and home to the first Beavertails pastry shop. Click the link below to read up more on ByWard Market and check out the progress shots of our build. Try to pick out the real-life from the mini version!
Introducing Parliament East Block: One Third of a Tiny-But-Mighty Governing Trio
Construction of our miniature Parliament Buildings is coming along nicely, and at a slighter faster pace than the original versions. During these past couple months, the team has turned their focus to the construction of East Block. Check out the article below for more shots of the progress and to read up on East Block.
We have a new friend who’s become pretty comfortable in our Miniature Land. Please say a friendly Canadian hello to Maurice the Moose. He’s a little bit shy, and during the last few weeks he’s been trying to avoid our camera’s eye. But we managed to snap a few shots of Maurice roaming through Toronto, the Golden Horseshoe and Ottawa. See if you can spot Maurice in our recent Instagram and Facebook posts, and keep an eye out for future sightings.
