Exploring a miniature world
Thank you to everyone who took the time to come and visit Our Home and Miniature Land over the past few months. You saw your city at your fingertips and you left behind ideas and feedback that we will incorporate towards completion of the full exhibition in 2017. Thank You!
We're on CBC
The first exposure we had to a wider audience occurred during the weekend of May 3rd 2015 when the segment filmed by Debbie Lightle-Quan aired three times on the program “Our Toronto”. (Saturday 12 noon, Sunday 11:00am, and Monday 1:00pm)
Debbie Lightle-Quan*, video-journalist at CBC News Toronto, interviewed David MacLean and Jean-Louis Brenninkmeijer at 370 Britannia Rd. Thursday morning April 22nd.
We are excited to announce that our latest video “Experience” has now been added to our website.
It features primarily how the visitor can interact with the exhibits including the option to run a train oneself on the exhibit, viewing educational videos, and looking for specific items on the exhibit including the Ontario Mascot family.
OHML Mascott Challenge
In 2014, we organized a mascot challenge contest with two schools in the Toronto area.
The four winning entries were subsequently invited to attend a workshop at our facility in Mississauga where they worked with one of our illustrators. Our team showed them how their individual sketches were transformed into a cohesive group of a family of four: the official OHML Mascotts!
The students got to paint their respective figures and place two of them on the Toronto exhibit, one individually and one as a group.
In addition to the “Trillium Family” kids can seek and find other interesting items and people as shown in the pictures below:
Noteworthy to mention is a tyrannosaurus Rex dinosaur hidden on our exhibit.
We will be exploring further interesting things for kids to do while their parents are focused on the exhibits.
